Actual Powerline Disaster!
In Feb 1996, this person who was high on PCP was trying to kill himself. This situation lasted for about 45 minutes. These photos are toward the end of the incident. The man had already walked from a previous power pole by means of climbing on the low voltage wire and hanging onto the other wire that was around him. The Power Company had denergized the low voltage wire at this point. The wires above him at this point are energized at 16,600 volts.
The man reached out his hand and grabbed the conductor and 16,600 volts shot through his body. The man is inside of the ball of fire that you see in the second photo.
A flash of eletrical power of this magnitude would kill most all people, but believe it or not, this man survived!
