Actual Hovercraft Rescue!
This is a photo of an actual rough water rescue by hovercraft. A 22 year old Ferris State University student had been canoeing when his canoe turned sideways in the Muskegon River in Big Rapids, Michigan. The craft was destroyed when he hit a cement bridge support and he was swept downstream. He managed to climb up on a stump lodged at the top of a hydraulic. The hovercraft had to go upstream for a half mile in a swift current to reach the man. He was rescued without any serious injuries. The Mecosta County Hovercraft was used in the operation.
