This officer was en route to a 999 call when he encountered a coned off area of roadway ahead of him as he overtook a bus. He braked off some speed as he entered the cones..only to find that the road surface was newly laid cement. The bike started to sink, leaving him stranded on the seat. Passers-by ignored his pleas for help, and by the time two workmen came to his aid, the bike was well and truly rooted in the cement. It was eventually removed by an AA patrol van, but only after the unfortunate officer had endured the attention of onlookers for over an hour...including a bus load of tourists who disembarked to take photographs of his predicament
